June 2nd saw Sceap open its (barn) door for an Open Day. The aim was to showcase our site and raise funds to buy a defibrillator as we are a little way off the beaten track! We sincerely hope we never need to use it, but having had close family with heart problems, it was a case of keeping everyone safe.
The Lord Mayor of Stoke visited us and enjoyed tea and Victoria sponge as well as a tour of the yurt and he met The Herd too.
We had a tombola, gorgeous cakes for sale, face painting, musical instruments in the yurt, pygmy goats, guinea pigs and of course, the wonderful Herd. Our amazing ladies from our Healing Heart Cafe ran the stalls, sold all the cakes and welcomed our visitors. ❤️
We welcomed over 150 and raised £1000 for our cause
We want to thank everyone who came and helped make it such a great day.
We are now working with AED to get the best defibrillator for us and arranging a site visit for the electrician to position it correctly. The defibrillator will need to be in a proper case and AED have kindly agreed to donate one to us, so it's protected from frost and damp
Thanks to everyone involved ❤️
